What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy means “cold therapy” and in this setting it means placing your body in a very cold environment for a short period of time to produce many wellness benefits. We use the most advanced cryotherapy technology available to provide an optimal therapeutic session.
Cryotherapy has been clinically proven to cause vasoconstriction (closing of blood vessels) of peripheral blood vessels followed by a complete vasodilation (expanding of blood vessels) of blood vessels. This process improves blood flow to the extremities, allowing for faster recovery, nutrient delivery and removal of waste from these areas.
How You'll Benefit
When to Consider
Cryotherapy has been shown to reduce inflammation and muscle soreness, help with pain relief, burn hundreds of calories in minutes and enhance circulation. Therefor, ideal candidates for cryotherapy are people recovering from a workout, seeking natural pain relief and desiring to burn calories.
What to Expect
You will stand in an enclosed chamber with an opening which allows your head to be out of the chamber. You will enter wearing a robe, gloves and slippers and once the chamber door is closed you will disrobe while wearing undergarments. (Bring earmuffs or winter hat if your ears get cold.) When you’re ready, the chamber operator will start your cryo session. The enclosure will get REALLY cold for an average time of 2-4 minutes, depending on how long you want to stay in.
